Baked Oatmeal

Here is an easy,  yummy way to make oatmeal.  Try it topped with bananas, berries, dried fruit, or milk.

Ingredient List:

2 cups uncooked quick-cooking oatmeal

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/3 cup Craisins

1 Tablespoon chopped walnuts

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup applesauce

2 Tablespoons butter, melted

1 large egg, beaten

Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees

In a large bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients, first the oatmeal…

Next the 1/3 cup packed brown sugar

Then the 1/3 cup of Craisins

1 Tablespoon chopped walnuts…

and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

Melt 2 Tablespoons of butter in the microwave.

In another bowl mix together the wet ingredients, first the milk.

Add the 1/2 cup of applesauce…

the melted butter….

Beat an egg in a separate bowl and add it to the wet ingredients.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix together.

Spray a 9×12 baking dish with cooking spray.

Pour the oatmeal into the baking dish and spread evenly.

Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.

Serve warm
