These are delicious for a weekend breakfast or brunch.
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup diced fresh apple, skins on
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup flour
4 Tablespoons sugar
3 Tablespoons unsalted butter at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Sift into a large bowl the dry ingredients: 1 1/2 cups flour
In a separate bowl, place the eggs, sour cream and melted butter. Stir well.
Stir the apples into the wet ingredients.
In a medium bowl, place the ingredients for the topping. Work with your fingers until they resemble large oatmeal flakes.
Remove from the oven and cool for about one hour.
